Foster Specialty Floors, a sports floor contracting company, was established in 1924 by Jordan Foster’s great grandfather, C.G. Foster. While he’s the fourth generation owner now, he started in the family business at age 13, working in the warehouse during the summers. He then moved into deliveries and installations throughout the next decade while attending school, ultimately earning a degree in marketing from the University of Michigan. In 2009, Foster went full-time, building a customer base that includes the University of Michigan and Michigan State University basketball programs. Jordan is the Chairman of the Young Professional Council for the Maple Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA). Through his company, he oversaw donations to replace the gym floor at Spain Elementary in Detroit, as well as donating and installing flooring at the Howell Teen Outreach Center. He and his company also donate to numerous local schools and organizations and participate in charity events to help fund athletic programs.
